Yesterday, October 23, 2008, was a great experience at the Jewish American History Museum. We formed a group of four to set up a display like they were the real ones to be shown to the visitors. As groups, we had to give a reason why we had set up the certain items the way we did and describe it. In my group, which included; Miguel, Imyah, Jie, and myself, our display of the five different items was called Coming To America, the title should explain a lot. Our five items chosen were, a certificate to be an America citizen, a picture for memories, a wooden stick to go on the outside of a door to keep bad energy out and invite good. The other two are, a cloth used to pray with and a Jewish Holy Scriptures book, which was sort of like a Bible. We also learned about the other group's display. Some other display topics were, Jewish Holidays, and about the War.

October 23, 2008, our Art History group went to the Jewish American History Museum to learn about Jewish American history and to make our individual group exhibits. My group consisting of Miguel, Briana C, Jie and myself named our exhibit "Coming to America". It was about a Jewish women coming to America and the items she might have brought with her. In other group exhibits, I learned about Jewish holidays, religious items, wars, and nations. After my experience in the museum, I look at Jewish history differently. I feel the struggles they went through to get to America and how they practice their religion.

On Thursday October 23, Period 4 class went to the Jewish Museum after lunch. The trip was great and I learned a lot of things. I learned that all men and women should have on some type of coverings on their heads while entering a temple. Jewish people also used a kind of bible that you can read to have blessings or read scriptures. The assignment that we had to do is pick an artifact out of the box that was at every station, write its ascension number, and present what it is and how it could be used. We had to wear gloves to touch the artifacts. While walking out of the museum, I looked at the gifts in the gift shop and I noticed the prices were about $115.00. I enjoyed the trip and can't wait to see the new museum, which will have 5 floors and will be done in 2010. That's my experience at the Jewish Museum.

I really enjoyed going to the museum. I like sitting there learning about the life of the Jews. I also like when we put the exhibit together and have to come up with a story.

Something I really enjoyed during our trip to the Jewish museum was when everyone got the chance to display our projects bout Jewish history. One of my favorite projects was the one about the Jewish soldier who moved.
I also enjoyed the sketches on the walls showing how the new museum would look in 2010.

The Jewish museum was a great experience for me. I learned a whole lot about Jewish immigration. Our exhibit was about Jews coming to America. It had a passport, a picture of a Jewish man and a soldier and some other interesting things

On Friday when we went to the museum I had fun I liked that we had got to do what a creator does for a living. My group did the project on a guy named Kat. He was in the war; he had a medal for his corporation in the war. I hope that we get to go back.

I like the to National Museum Of American Jewish History, but I think we need to have more time in the museum. It was very fun in the Jewish History Museum when we get to put the exhibition. It was a very a very good experiment for me. I cannot to see the new Museum of American Jewish History.

The trip was nice because the guides gave us a lot of information. They gave the group that I was in a lot of info about Jewish religion. I did not like how small it was even though I know they are getting bigger.

What I liked about the Jewish museum was how we got to make a story out of the artifacts they provided us with. My group was Gabbi, Briana, and Stephen. The story we put together & created was called "An old Solider". The artifacts that we used was an old passport, a Jewish book, a donation cup, a metal, & a document. The passport was supposed to be the solders that was in the war, while we made the book & donation cup something he brought to war with him to remind him of home. The metal was something he won from war & the document just told a little bit about him.

During the trip to the Jewish museum I found it fun and exciting. Instead of us just sitting around listening to the Lady speak we had the opportunity to be apart of the exhibit. Being apart of something really catches my attention and make it easy for me to learn something. I was apart of the traditions and celebration exhibit. I knew about the Jewish holidays such as Chanukah but I didn't know too much about it. So I enjoyed the trip it was fun and I wouldn't mine going back again especially once they get their bigger building.

I liked the way we made up our own tradition presentation and how we got to experience a lot touching historical artifacts.
I think what should've been different is that the people seemed protective and stood around and we didn't get to ON OUR OWN, figure things out for ourselves.

I thought that the trip was very insightful. I liked how we learned to make an exhibit. I didn't like the talk that the lady gave us before we did our exhibits. I was in the group with Jasmine W., Chalise T., and Elbert U. We did our exhibit based on traditions.
